Programme Outline
China’s growth is entering a new chapter.
After decades of high-speed expansion at 8–10% annually, growth has slowed to around 5% in recent years. The deceleration is widely recognised as structural rather than cyclical.
In response, China is undertaking significant structural adjustments, reorienting its economy towards strengthening domestic resilience, advancing scientific and technological self-reliance, and developing the industries of the future.
It is transitioning away from a predominantly export-led model towards one centred on dual circulation and sustainable development, placing greater emphasis on quality over quantity.
How will China’s next phase of development reshape global supply chains and trade flows?
Against this backdrop, this ICDM PowerTalk will shed light on China’s evolving economic landscape. The session will explore both its strengths and challenges, while considering the strategic opportunities available to Malaysian firms seeking to engage with China’s next phase of growth.
