Programme Overview

Financial crime is becoming increasingly interconnected, technology-enabled and difficult to detect. Fraud, corruption, money laundering, scams and cyber-enabled crime are converging, while artificial intelligence, deepfakes and sophisticated impersonation are creating new vulnerabilities for organisations and their stakeholders.

For boards, the question is no longer simply whether appropriate compliance frameworks exist, but whether the organisation can anticipate, detect, escalate and respond effectively to material financial crime threats.

Designed specifically for directors, this focused executive programme examines the financial crime outlook towards 2027 and beyond and its implications for board oversight and organisational resilience. It equips directors to critically evaluate the quality of management information, risk assessment and assurance; recognise emerging exposures and governance blind spots; challenge management effectively; and determine when escalation is necessary.

Learning outcome

By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

  1. Interpret emerging financial crime developments towards 2027 and beyond and assess their implications for governance and organisational resilience.

  2. Evaluate whether governance arrangements, management information, Fraud Risk Assessment (FRA) outputs and assurance provide a credible view of financial crime exposure and control effectiveness.

  3. Exercise board judgement in challenging management responses, identifying escalation thresholds and overseeing emerging financial crime incidents.

  4. Ask sharper questions on accountability, prevention, detection, assurance, whistleblowing, incident response and remediation.
