Programme Outline
2025 marks a pivotal shift in corporate accountability as Malaysian organisations begin reporting under the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF) through a phased approach. Sustainability reporting is far more complex than financial reporting and demands cross-functional collaboration, nuanced judgement and a deep understanding of the evolving standards and expectations.
As Board members, how well prepared is your organisation in producing high quality sustainability disclosures in line with NSRF? Do you know who is responsible and accountable in your organisation for them? How well connected are these disclosures with financial reporting? What are the challenges being faced? Who is providing assurance over these disclosures? These are some of the issues boards need to be on top of and start reflecting.
In April 2025, ACCA surveyed over 1,000 respondents representing organisations across all sectors in 113 jurisdictions and held eight global roundtables to examine global readiness to create sustainability information.
This session will outline the process, system and people readiness findings to create and use sustainability information, together with the 10 emerging recommendations for Boards to strengthen governance, enhance reporting quality and drive meaningful progress in sustainability reporting.
