Following our initial dialogue session on e-Invoicing and its implications for directors, held on 9 May 2025, we discussed the obligations to issue e-invoices by directors of companies under a contract for service who receive director fees exceeding RM150,000 per year.
In this upcoming session, EY will provide a comprehensive recap of the previous discussion. We will explore some typical scenarios to offer directors practical guidance on the individual tax, service tax implications, and e-invoicing requirements applicable to independent directors, foreign directors and executive directors.
A secondary focus of this session will be a step-by-step demonstration on how directors can access the IRBM’s MyInvois Portal and how an e-Invoice can be issued through the MyInvois Portal, including: -
- Logging into the MyInvois Portal via the MyTax portal
- Understanding the mandatory fields within the MyInvois Portal
- Detailing the information required when issuing e-Invoices for various companies
- Interpreting e-Invoice status post-validation
- Procedures for cancelling or adjusting e-Invoices after validation
- Downloading e-Invoices for record-keeping purposes
By the end of this session, participants will achieve the following outcomes:
- Compliance with Tax Laws: Application of knowledge related to individual tax, service tax and e-invoicing to typical scenarios faced by directors.
- Enhanced Proficiency in MyInvois Portal: Ability to navigate and issue e-Invoices through the MyInvois Portal.
