Mind Matters: Mental Wellbeing in the Workplace

Part 1 : Dialogue & Networking | 10.00 am – 12:00 pm
Part 2 : Roundtable Discussion | 12.30 pm – 1:30 pm

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), poor workplace mental health is estimated to cost USD1 trillion annually on the global economy. Similarly, in Malaysia, this staggering trend costs approximately RM14.46 billion per year, or 1% of the country’s GDP (Relate Malaysia, 2018).

Given the substantial business cost of workplace mental health, immediate actions are needed to promote a supportive and inclusive work environment. Proactively addressing employees’ well-being does not only demonstrate the company’s commitment to social responsibility but also positively impact the “S” of ESG metrics which attract socially conscious investors, customers and top talents, contributing to long-term business sustainability.

In view of this, ICDM is supporting the Well-being@Work© (W@W©) movement championed by O-Pysch to assess the gap between Malaysia’s current and desired W@W© Index. This W@W© Index will be the first unified approach and is a validated tool aligned with international standards in measuring psychosocial risk, psychosocial well-being and psychological safety levels of employees. Data collected will contribute to the Malaysia Annual W@W© Index Report, giving insights, trends and recommendations to improve well-being in the workplace for generations to come.

Gain insights on the preliminary data we have on current level of Malaysia’s employees W@W© Index and dialogue on the boards’ roles in championing mental health and well-being at workplace as well as strategies to sustain positive team dynamics and performance excellence. This dialogue session will be held under the Chatham House Rule.

If you are keen to dive into deeper conversations, do also sign up for the interactive roundtable discussion after the morning session, where we will engage and share best practices, exchange experiences and address emerging industry challenges to drive actionable change moving forward.
