Dr. Sumitra has three decades of corporate and leadership track record in sustainability, human capital and digital transformation across the telecommunications, technology, and public sectors. Her experience includes serving as Senior Director and Group Head of Sustainability at Telekom Malaysia, establishing a group-wide ESG reporting system for Telenor Group, and shaping national digital economy strategies as EXCO member and Senior Vice President at MDEC.
She continues to contribute actively towards sustainable human capital development as an Adjunct Professor at Asia Pacific University, as well as holding advisory roles at International Medical University, University Teknologi Petronas and Talent Corporation.
Sumitra has spoken at more than 200 forums including those organised by UN agencies and the World Bank, and is recognised as one of 100 global thought leaders by the Finnish Hundred Project for innovations in education,
Sumitra holds a PhD in Business and Economics (Monash University).
