Edmund has been in active legal practice since 1998, with over 25 years of experience working with businesses, States, and non-governmental organisations to promote and protect human rights. In particular, he evaluates and monitors human rights compliance by companies and supports them on their ESG sustainability journeys.

He also assesses their labour supply chains and assists them by providing practical action plans for implementation to improve their business practices.

Edmund served as Malaysia's representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018, and was recently re-appointed as the Malaysian representative in 2024.

Edmund is a Chevening scholar and has a Master of Studies in International Human Rights Law degree from the University of Oxford and is pursuing a doctorate in human rights and peace at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP), Mahidol University, Thailand.
