Norhisham Abd Bahrin is a Partner in the Corporate practice at Azmi & Associates and has over 25 years of corporate legal experience, with a practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, fund investments, corporate governance as well as sustainability. He has advised on significant transactions involving listed companies and government-linked corporations across sectors including automotive, palm oil and real estate. In parallel, he maintains an active governance advisory practice, having conducted extensive public and in-house programmes while regularly coaching board members of listed entities and GLCs on governance frameworks and best practices.
Norhisham was recognised in IFLR1000 (2025/2026 and 2023/2024) as a 'Notable Practitioner' for Mergers & Acquisitions in Malaysia. The Legal 500 (2022) described him as "passionate and willing to go the extra mile in assisting clients in terms of legal advice". He was also named In-House Community Commended External Counsel for 2025 and 2024. Deals that he worked on won the ESG & Sustainability Law Firm of the Year award at the Asian Legal Business Malaysia Law Awards recently, as well as the IFN 2024 ESG, Green & SRI Law Firm of the Year award.
Norhisham is an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with an LLB (Hons.) in 1999 and holds an MBA in International Business from the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London, UK. He is also qualified with a Business Sustainability Management Certificate from the University of Cambridge, UK.
