Renzo has over three decades of experience in the banking industry. Beginning his career with Citibank in 1985, he held senior positions across various Asia Pacific countries until 2008, culminating in the role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Citibank Malaysia. In 2008, he joined RHB Bank Berhad as Director, Retail Banking, overseeing consumer, insurance, hire purchase, and SME businesses.
He was subsequently appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of RHB Bank Berhad before joining CIMB Group in 2012. At CIMB, he served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of CIMB Bank, then as Chief Executive Officer of Group Consumer Banking, driving growth and transformation initiatives. Renzo has also held non-executive director roles at CIMB Bank (Vietnam) Ltd, CIMB Cambodia Bank PLC, Sun Life Malaysia Assurance and Takaful Berhad.
Currently, he serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Manulife Holdings Berhad, Manulife Insurance Berhad, Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad, and Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd (listed on NSE/BSE). Additionally, Renzo is a director and founder of Crescer Sdn Bhd, a management consulting firm. He is actively engaged as a mentor at Endeavour and the 30% Club, and provides advisory and coaching services to numerous CEOs.
Renzo holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai, India. He is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
