Ria is a senior expert in the area of directorship and good corporate governance. She is an experienced leader in the banking and international law industries.
For the last 6 years, Ria has been a board member at P.T. Mitra Business Keluarga Ventura, a microfinance company and an IFC World Bank’s investee company, to deliver the Woman Empowerment Mission (SDG No. 5) in the capacity of IFC’s Nominee Director. Some of her roles in the organisation consist of overseeing the functions of risk management, compliance, good corporate governance, and many others. She is also currently a member of the IICD Management Board.
Ria has vast experience as a manager for various in-house, domestic, and international projects, with some highlights being: moving the international credit portfolio of Chase Manhattan Bank Jakarta from the Chase Manhattan Bank Guam Branch to the Chase Manhattan HK Branch; and serving as an operational merger manager for the 10 banks merger that emerged as Bank Danamon.
Ria is also an activist in community development to promote local skills or wisdom/weaving and healthy life skills and community skills in general with a high interest in women’s development. She was a partner in Dunamis, a leadership and human management organisation holding the license of Franklin Covey’s Center, for 15 years and held various functions.
She also has 30 years of experience as a banker holding board member positions in public, private, and foreign banks, holding various board positions such as Chairman of the Audit Committee, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee, Member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committee, and many more.
She holds an International Law degree from the University of Indonesia and a Master of Business Administration degree with distinction from De Montfort University, UK. She completed the Asia Operations Management Program and Asia Credit Training Program from The Chase Manhattan Bank N.A., as part of her early banking nurturing. She is also trained as an advanced trainer for Trainers for Good Corporate Governance (including ESG) by the IFC. Now she is in the process of completing her International Certification in Risk Management.
