Programme Outline

The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Masterclass for Boards is designed specifically for board directors, focusing on the next phase of global and ASEAN M&A trends. M&A remains one of the most critical areas of corporate strategy, with the current market environment shaped by heightened regulatory scrutiny, the impact of digital transformation, and evolving shareholder expectations regarding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations.

The programme aims to equip board members with the tools and insights needed to navigate the complexities of contemporary M&A. Participants will delve into emerging M&A trends across Asia and globally, focusing on key regulatory changes, the role of technology in deal processes, and the integration of sustainability into corporate transactions.

This masterclass provides directors with practical knowledge on effective risk assessment, decision-making frameworks, and stakeholder engagement during M&A transactions - including considerations on the legal, financial, and cultural aspects, to make informed decisions that align with the organization’s strategic objectives. Creating a cultural integration plan that respects the strengths of each organization while fostering a unified corporate culture is essential.

Through this programme, board members will be able to gain in-depth understanding of deal structures, risk management, and effective oversight in a constantly evolving M&A landscape. The content will also address the importance of post-merger integration, pre-merger notification requirements, and provide insights into digital tools for efficient M&A management.
